Is HisabAI reliable and safe for personal and shared expenses?

HisabAI is a privacy-focused expense tracking and bill-splitting app for friends, roommates, families, and trips. It is not a bank, NBFC, wallet, or payment processor. HisabAI does not store UPI PINs, bank credentials, CVVs, or full card numbers, and your data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

What financial data HisabAI does not store

HisabAI never asks for and never stores:

  • UPI PINs
  • Bank login credentials
  • Card CVVs
  • Full card numbers
  • One-time passwords (OTPs)
  • Net-banking passwords

How UPI settlement works

When a balance is ready to settle, HisabAI updates your record and can open your preferred UPI app (PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm, BHIM, or any other). The actual transfer happens entirely inside that app under your bank’s and your UPI app’s authentication — HisabAI never sees the transaction credentials, never sees your PIN, and is not a participant in the payment flow.

How AI features work and their limits

HisabAI uses AI for receipt scanning, voice expense entry, category suggestions, and monthly summaries. Two things to keep in mind:

  • AI outputs are assistive and may require review for accuracy before you rely on them for decisions.
  • AI does not access your bank account, UPI account, or any external financial system.

Encryption and infrastructure

Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest in the database. Authentication uses secure session tokens. Access to production data is restricted to authorized personnel. HisabAI does not provide end-to-end encryption in the strict sense, because some features (AI processing, cross-device sync) require the server to read content.

Data retention and deletion

Account, expense, and settlement data are retained for the active life of your account. After you request deletion, retention timelines for account, expense, settlement, backup, and analytics data follow the Data Retention Policy. Is HisabAI a bank or payment app?

No. HisabAI is an expense tracking and bill-splitting app. Actual payments happen through your own UPI app or other settlement method — HisabAI does not move money.

Does HisabAI store my UPI PIN or bank credentials?

No. HisabAI does not store UPI PINs, bank login credentials, CVVs, full card numbers, OTPs, or net-banking passwords.

Is HisabAI end-to-end encrypted?

HisabAI encrypts data in transit (TLS) and at rest. Some features such as AI summaries, receipt parsing, and cross-device sync require server-side processing, so HisabAI is not end-to-end encrypted in the strict technical sense (where only the user holds the keys).

Can I delete my account and data?

Yes. You can request deletion from in-app settings or by emailing support@hisabai.in. Account, expense, settlement, backup, and analytics data follow the timelines published in the Data Retention Policy.

Does HisabAI sell my data or run ad networks?

No. HisabAI does not sell personal data and does not run third-party advertising networks inside the app or on the marketing site.

Should I trust HisabAI AI outputs for financial decisions?

AI outputs (insights, summaries, category suggestions, receipt parsing) are assistive and should be reviewed before relying on them. AI never has access to your bank or UPI account.
